It was both a sunny & windy day down here in my city today. It took us a while to style my hair which was blown all around me, often covering my eyes and face. Well, I could say I just had one of these ‘bad hair days‘. And believe me, even though it brings a lot of fun during the photoshoot, at the same time it can be very frustrating and annoying.

To help create a casual fall outfit, I used an oversized wool coat that functions as a cover-up. Cover-ups are extremely versatile and an ideal addition to your fall wardrobe. My coat is a unique handmade piece made by my favorite personal tailor and features an oversized collar. I’m always stunned by the tailor’s ability to produce perfectly fitting pieces that meet my individual requirements. As much as I love shopping in the city center, nothing can beat the experience and joy of having something custom made.

In order to create your custom clothing the tailor is going to measure you and help by suggesting a style that would look good on you. They will also discuss with you the best way to incorporate your custom requirements and suggest ideas you never thought of. I worked closely with my tailor to determine the style of my coat and I visited their workshop several times to discuss the progress. It wasn’t a hassle because I did it during the weekend or late afternoons.

This last week I went back to have a discussion on any final adjustments, and just a few days later it was finished and I picked it up. They did the work perfectly. Although I was absolutely delighted with the quality of the coat and service, finding a good tailor that fits you isn’t an easy job.

What I really like about my new oversized wool coat is the unique style that it has. The shoulder-draping collar adds some drama, and the lining is smooth and uses colorful patterns.

The oversized wool coat works together with the monochrome plaid scarf and Calzedonia gray knitted tights, Sisley hobo bag and my Pittarello chamois leather boots. These knitted tights were love at first sight from the moment I saw them in the store’s display. On top of it I’ve added a pair of Chanel earrings, H&M sunnies and a silver ring that looks absolutely fabulous. What do you think? Waiting for your precious comments.

Bikkembergs Fall Essentials Trench Coat

One of my favorite fall essentials this season is definitely a trench coat. But, it’s coming in a bit more simple style than what you would expect.

When I go shopping, I usually look for clothing I like, while not paying too much attention to the price on the tag. One of the most important matters to me, is the material and how a particular garment feels to touch. The clothing I wear varies from expensive, to affordably priced, however I can’t deny that sometimes I buy clothing just because it comes from a brand that I like. 

Bikkembergs is a relatively new brand on the market. Even though their first opened store dates back to 1993, Paris, they don’t have many stores yet, so it wasn’t easy to find them. Their footwear is easily recognized by its lightweight and comfortable design, and their constant focus on simplicity and versatility. 

Over the years the brand has branched out into other clothing pieces and has developed a unique style, combined with comfort and unisex design, that has gained them many returning costumers.

As they managed to get my attention here I’ve opted for a mid-length, single breasted trench coat in midnight blue, in contrary to a more traditional double-breasted design.

The mid-length one is the most common types, and is loved by both tall and petite women. These days you can also find a single breasted cut trench coat, that doesn’t make your chest look too bulky. When it comes to colors, I would suggest picking a camel or royal blue colored piece as they are easier to style and combine with. It can be worn any time but, I usually use it as a transitional coat from spring to fall. I can assure you that this popular timeless style of men’s outerwear works equally well for women and is definitely here to stay.
